Configuring Safety Controls
Let's set up caps and pause controls to keep your automation safe.
Setting Daily Caps
Step 1: Access Settings
Navigate to Settings > Safety > Sending Limits
Step 2: Set Your Cap
Choose a reasonable daily maximum:
- Free: 100 default
- Starter: 2,500 max
- Growth: 10,000 max
- Scale: 50,000 max
Step 3: Choose Cap Behavior
When cap is reached:
- Pause: Stop sending until next day
- Queue: Hold emails for tomorrow
Configuring Pause Controls
Manual Pause
Available on any automation:
- Go to Automations
- Click the automation
- Toggle "Pause"
Scheduled Pause
For recurring pauses:
- Settings > Safety > Schedule
- Set days/times to pause
- Save
Per-User Controls
Individual Suppression
To exclude specific users:
- Go to Users
- Find the user
- Click "Suppress"
Bulk Suppression
Upload a CSV of emails to suppress.
Testing Your Controls
Before Going Live:
- Set a low cap (10-20 sends)
- Run automation
- Verify cap works
- Gradually increase
Test Pause:
- Start automation
- Click pause
- Verify emails stop
- Resume and verify restart
Monitoring
Check daily:
- Sends vs cap
- Any paused automations
- Suppression list changes
